Carsington Water is in Derbyshire about 15 miles away from Derby. Its the 9th largest reservoir in England and can hold up to 7.8 billion gallons of water.
There is a Visitor Centre, 3 hides and a heated Wildlife Centre where the RSPB hold there Aren't Birds Brilliant Event on certain days.

Lovely place, had a great day out in the early summer.
Didn't see the Ruddy Duck, maybe the RSPB followed up their "Aren't Birds Brilliant" event with a "Some Birds Aren't That Brilliant At All, Actually" event and had a family fun competition to see who could kill it.
