World Trip Reports

India and Nepal 2008

Happy 2008 to all.
To start the year off, i'm going backpacking around India and Nepal for most of January and February, leaving tomorrow. Hopefully we'll be doing the Jomsom/Thak Khola Trek and Chitwan NP in Nepal, and visiting Corbett NP, Harike Wetlands, the Great Thar Desert, Gujarat and Goa in India.

Obviously i'll write a full Trip Report once I get back, but i'll be regularly updating my blog while i'm out there: www.joesbirding.blogspot.com Hopefully this will be of use to anyone out there at the same time as me, and provide more of a 'general feel' of the trip.

joe...just saw your blog...you have got some mind blowing pictures of birds.....wanted to leave a message but system wanted 8 words while my password has only 6...so couldnt leave a comment.Thank you very much..waiting for you to come back with a trip report..enjoy your self.

Got back from this trip last week.
We recorded 518 species in total, which I dont think is too bad considering it wasnt a dedicated birding trip.
Somehow we managed to spend much longer in Goa than originally planned so ran out of time to visit some excellent sites in North-west India, still, it's a good excuse to go back.

I'm slowly going through the photographs and uploading them to my blog. Most of the worthwhile shots from the amazing Jomsom Trek are now up. I'm afraid a trip report may be quite a long time coming though.
