Backwards Listing

A couple of people have revealed "backwards" listing (where you knock off a tarty bird having nailed its rarer congener first) in the last few days.

My own is probably Eastern Olivaceous Warbler before Icterine and Melodious, (though when I was starting out I got Red-necked Grebe before Little Grebe) but my wife Marion saw Gyrfalcon before Peregrine, Merlin and Hobby, and still needs Little Auk despite having seen Long-billed Murrelet - both being a consequence of hanging around with me.

What's your worst offence?

A mate of mine, whom I won't name in case of embarrassing him, ticked Masked Shrike as his first UK Shrike.........................He's been birding for years but doesn't drive so hadn't got to the east coast for the others. His next shrike was Greta Grey followed by RB Shrike, then Woodchat then Lesser Grey.

Fea's Petrel down to mere metres off a Scilly pelagic and I STILL need Great Shear!
