Just sitting about earlier a bit bored waiting for the undercoat to dry & drinking tea / eating biscuits etc, and i ended up making a list of birds i've seen while out cycling.
Guess it's got a lot to do with where i live (flat & good birding !!) but have to say i'm really pleased with this one,
There's no exact rules for this, they're not all seen whilst actually riding (trying to increase that list just doesn't seem too clever really .... scope & tripod on the handlebars ??? ... you get my drift here ?) so i've included those seen at locations i've cycled to then walked round, such as Strumpshaw reserve and Horsey dunes etc. The general principle, i guess, is that they're seen without motorised transport.
Most are on my local patch, but i've put some locations for others (which relate to the 1st sighting of the year), all seabirds so far are from Horsey dunes

Nice list, Carlos.
I've been following your posts on "cycle-birding" as it is something I hope to get into.
Truth is, my more than ample girth wouldn't harm for a bit of bike riding, and it's "on the list" of purchases.
Whilst it ain't exactly pancake flat around here, it's not too bad, and if I can link the bike to the birds, I might actually promote the thing up the list of priorities!
Hmmm... Come to think of it... I could bike around my Outback...
Yes go for it. Take it steady start, choose a few country lanes or somewhere there's not many cars & if you get a pace you're happy with you'll be amazed how far you end up going.
